Mille Fiore (1000 Flowers)

This technique is used in glassworks and ceramic pieces. In ceramics it is the technique of using colored clays and forming them into long tubular shapes, put together to make a design. Then the tube is sliced to show its inside design (like the rings of a log or a rolled cookie). In this way, many "flowers" can be made from one roll.
