The Moundbuilders, or Mississippians

There were bustling centers of
commerce along the Mississippi River before 1400 AD
according to
archeologists. These people are called the
Moundbuilders
today because of the large earthworks that they created as part of their
cities. You can still
see remains of a few of these mounds today in certain national parks.

here.
While civilization flourished, the demand for arts and crafts grew. Go
