During this course we will study the following:
vocabulary and language of ceramics
criticism and theories of art as they apply to ceramics
of media, methods and techniques to create ceramic pieces
Historical periods of ceramic art
Ceramic Art Notebook -- You will keep a notebook containing all handouts and
notes taken on reading assignments, lectures, films and demonstrations.
-- Be present for class, take part in discussions, make efficient use of time
during class work sessions.
Competence -- You should demonstrate competence by completing all sketches, work
sheets and major assignments.
Responsibility -- Be responsible for tools, supplies and the studio work area.
Rubrics are used to grade
each project. Standards for quality and creativity are high.
